Didrex Information
How to Use
Take as directed by your doctor. Didrex is usually taken with a full glass
of water one to three times daily before meals on an empty stomach. Do not
take Didrex longer than directed by your doctor.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects of taking Didrex include restlessness, nervousness,
difficulty sleeping, or dry mouth. Contact your doctor immediately if you
experience any of the following more serious side effects: an allergic reaction
(difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue,
or face; or hives); an irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure. Talk
to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or concerns you.
Precautions
Talk to your doctor about your complete medical history. If you experience
dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, avoid hazardous activities.
Didrex is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent
on Didrex, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly
after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor about stopping
Didrex gradually. Consult with your doctor if you think you may be pregnant
or are breast feeding.
Drug Interactions
Talk to your doctor before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines,
including herbal products, especially if you take high blood pressure medicine.
You cannot take Didrex if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)
such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine
(Nardil) recently. Drugs other than those listed here may also interact
with Didrex.
Notes
For maximum effects, this must be used in conjunction with a diet and exercise
program. Do not share Didrex with others for whom it was not prescribed,
since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this drug.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Didrex, take the dose as soon as you remember. However,
if it is almost time for the next regularly scheduled dose, skip the missed
dose and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double
dose. Taking a dose late in the day will cause insomnia.
Storage
Store Didrex at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from
heat, moisture, and light. Keep this and all medications out of the reach
of children.
